St. Francis Xavier's Church in Pallavaram, Chennai, holds a significant place in the history of
Catholicism in South India as a centennial-celebrating church. Established in 1851, it has been
a cornerstone of faith for 173 years.
Our current building, constructed in 1925, celebrates nearly 100 years of service to our
community.
The church serves as a place of worship and community gathering for local Catholic residents,
hosting regular religious services, including Mass and sacraments.
It is also actively involved in various community outreach and charitable activities, reflecting
its deep-rooted commitment to serving the faithful and the broader community.
With 37 Anbiyams in total, each led by an active coordinator, these groups gather monthly to share and discuss the teachings of the Bible. The 37 Anbiyams are grouped into 8 zones within the Parish.
